An integrated approach of reservoir characterization of Y gas field in Central Bredasdorp Basin, South Africa

Abstract The study attempts to address the knowledge gap in Bredasdorp Basin Offshore South Africa by using newly acquired seismic data with an enhanced resolution, integrating core and well log provide a solution. main objective of this was volumetric sandstone reservoir characterization 13At1 10At1 sandstones deposited upper shallow marine environment. results reveal four facies grouped as 1(claystone), 2(intercalation claystone sandstone, 3(medium sandstone), 4 fine-medium grain deep Facies 3, medium-grained has best quality rock, while 1, which is predominantly claystone, least rock quality. produced calculated volume gas sand (upper lower 30.01 billion cubic feet (bcf)) higher than that (27.22 bcf gas). Improved resolution accuracy results. It advisable focus further field development eastern part Y because good production developed due sequence.
